Reinventing Adlib

Adlib Catwalk reached its 40th edition showing that Ibiza designers are still able to reinvent themselves and adapt to changing times the mythical white dress that put the island on the world map of fashion. In this edition, presented by journalist Berta Collado at Hotel Ushuaia and with Elisabeth Reyes and Mireia Canalda on the catwalk, we saw lots of color  but also a large presence of white.

Lots of flowers at Hippy Chick. Long shirts, bodies with details of sequins, poppies and daisies in the bags and prints for a very Flower Power look.  In Tanit Jeans we saw white shorts patterned with silver or with the U.S. flag and denim dresses with ruffles and Swarovski crystals detail, one of the house brands. Silver was also one of the biggest bets of Ivanna Mestres, which showed long evening dresses to toe, lace and lots of shiny. Ruben Perlotti showed elegant party dresses, printed on vibrant colors: green, blue …  Morocha Ibiza presented a very Adlib collection -cotton, lace, sheer dresses, though colorful, predominantly red, coral and pink. Beatrice San Francisco  exhibited her cool hippy style , with knitwear dresses in natural colors, but introducing also a bamboo collection in hot colors such red and coral.

White color was also a must in the Catwalk. Isabel Castelar,  with a collection of dresses inspired by the mythical critaturas: feather skirts, knitwear and very pronounced cleavage.  Dira Moda twins showed designs in pure white, fluffy and forms and one of the trends this summer: the fringed tops. Bayarri Piluca showed white and blue dresses combined with Swarovski crystals, embrodiered skirts and microshorts. Toni Bonet, which displayed a stunning collection of wedding gowns inspired by baroque and rococo, chose an off-white and ivory tones for their creations. Although undoubtedly the largest collection of purely Adlib was the Zarabanda one, who dressed little girls in skirts with long wheel and started in one of the liveliest passages, with a kiss between the two male models.

The most exciting moment of the night was the tribute to Lluís Ferrer, who announced he retires  after 40 years of dedication. In his latest collection, a lot of volume due to the presence of tulle and lace and crochet patterns. Pure Adlib.

Jewel designer Pomar performed also on the Catwalk, , with ​​a spectacular collection of rosaries and necklaces inspired by emprendades (typical traditional Ibizan jewel) in red and silver necklaces and silver and green.
