Las Dalias de Ibiza celebrated yesterday a big party to present the book of the 60th anniversary. This is the story of a place that has become an icon of the island and the hippie movement. The event, presented by journalist Jesus Turel and actress Tita Planells was also an emotional tribute to the founder of las Dalias, Juan Marí Juan, and all the people who have contributed to its history and myth.

On the stage we heard the speeches of musicians, artisans, journalists and institutional representatives, who were telling anecdotes and experiences that have occurred over the years in las Dalias. A place that opened its doors as a bar and nightclub and today has become one of the most famous hippie markets in the world, where more than 300 artisans and designers show their creations.

After the speeches we enjoyed a great fashion show that was like a journey through the history of fashion and music, from the 60s to the present. The first models were wearing the typical and iconic white Adlib dresses. Then it was the turn of the 70s and the Flower Power movement. Flowers in the hair and colorful clothing. The 80’s and 90’s were very rock’n’roll: black leather, fringe and glitter. Finally, the XXI century welcomed the new age movement and the boho chic that now is the essence of las Dalias. The hippies became glamorous.

The show was organized by Virginia, from Emonk Ibiza, Baransu Peluqueros and GDH. All the clothes and accessories were from Las Dalias. We loved to see on the catwalk the history of fashion and music!
