Sailing bags

Fashion and reciclyng? Why not?  Nowadays designers suprise us with original and eco creations. The latest: using old ship sails for making bags and backpacks. With its collection Boatiful things,  creator Pascale Rocca, a native from France but settled in the island for several years, experiments with women’s handbags and backpacks for men. All are made of old sailing boats combined with leather and fur. Her creations are made of canvas sails from Mediterranean Sea and recycled high-tech fabrics in carbon.

Woman’s purse and man’s backpack.

The seams are sewn in a zigzag machine, like the sails of the boats, rope and knots are like the ones used by marine vessels. They are lined inside with different colored fabrics and leather with multiple pockets. Pascale’s collection is inspired by the map of Balearic Islands. These bags are striking for its unusual designs and colors. They work great as a beach bag, but you can also take it for dinner … are light and very easy-going!
