My Spring Ibiza

Today we introduce Marisa Van Welzen, owner at The Workout Club Ibiza, the popular outdoors training company, and blogger at Ibiza Inside. We are very happy to talk with her about her favourite’s places and thinks to do in Spring. Now the island is still quite but more beautiful than ever, so it’s time to discover its best kept secrets by the hand of the locals. Are you ready?

Marisa is from Amsterdam, so since she started living in Ibiza she enjoys outdoor life. “I love hiking and picnic with friends on a weekend day. Exploring the island and find new places, work the body at the same time and enjoy homemade food and a cold glass of wine to top it off. Of course all this whilst having quality time with friends”, she says. She is a healthy and fit girl: “Fitness an Yoga are important for me to function a 100% and keep my body and mind in good condition. Fitness I obviously do at TWC Ibiza and my favourite Yoga Teachers are Leanna Buchanan, Annika Sunup and Anna MCColl“.

Marisa’s hobby is finding old furniture and refurbishing. “I love to see the beauty of an old piece that no one sees and bring it ‘to life’ again. Therefore Secondhand Almacen Troc and markets such as Saturday in San Jordi and Sunday at Cala Llenya are my favourite places”.

I can’t wait for the island to come back to life and beach clubs and bars to re-open again. Having a long lazy lunch at Jockey Club on Salinas is still my old time favourite but the owner of the little chiringuito on Cala Llenya also stole my hart with his warm, fresh from the oven, Appel cake and his always smiling face.

Sunset in Spring I like to watch whilst zipping a drink and having some snacks on the terrace of Hostal La Torre.
